Generative Artificial Intelligence is no longer a tool; it is a co-creator and perhaps a co-narrator. The AI Design / Generative Futures category is not an independent theme apart from the main subject of the Seat Prize 2025. Rather, it is a conceptual reinterpretation of the central theme — “The Dining Chair” — through the lens of generative AI design.
In this category, designers are invited to explore the concept of the dining chair not merely as a physical object, but as a cultural, social, and data-driven experience. Participants are encouraged to submit conceptual ideas and AI-generated visual forms that raise new questions about authorship, identity, and aesthetics in the era of intelligent creation.
AI Design / Generative Futures celebrates design not as a final product, but as an evolving dialogue, between machine and human, between the memory of the past and the intelligent experience of tomorrow.
This edition of the Seat Prize addresses the AI Design / Generative Futures category under the theme of “Dining Chair Design.”
Participants in this competition must use generative AI to reinterpret the cultural and emotional essence of the dining experience, exploring how a chair can become not only a support for the body but also a vessel for narrative and emotion.
Final submissions should be sent to the permanent secretariat of the Seat Prize.
The aim is not imitation, but rediscovery; to revisit the meaning of sitting, eating, and gathering together, concepts deeply rooted in cultural rituals and collective human memory. The true goal is to uncover new forms of interaction between humans, technology, and the shared cultural act of dining; where design becomes a bridge between memory, culture, and machine imagination.
The contestants in this event could be any real person participating individually or a group of individuals participating as a group.

Each juror will review the works independently and select their preferred submissions. After consolidating these choices, a shortlist of honourable mentions will be drawn up. These works will proceed to the second phase of judging.
Second Phase: Selection of the Top Five Winners
In this phase, each juror will conduct a detailed review of the shortlisted works and listen to the opinions of other jury members regarding each entry. Then, based on a standardized scoring form provided by the secretariat, the scores will be compiled.
